Achieving a smile that you feel is perfect can be tough, while maintaining that same beautiful smile over the years can seem downright impossible. Even with regular brushing, flossing, and rinsing, your teeth can undergo quite a few changes over the years, which can leave them imperfect. Maybe a little something extra is needed, which, thanks to veneers, is both accessible and affordable. With porcelain veneers for teeth, you will be able to keep the smile you love. Dr. Mukesh Patel and the team at Ontario Dental Center in Ontario, CA, have provided veneers to patients with great results.
A porcelain veneer is a very thin covering that is applied to the front of a tooth to provide a natural look and cover-up imperfections, including:
Your porcelain veneer(s) will be created based on customized specifications taken by Dr. Patel working one-on-one with you. Your custom fit veneer will fit perfectly, be completely comfortable, and provide a natural look once bonded to the front of your teeth.
Let us look at the procedure you will most likely undergo in receiving your porcelain veneers. Initially, Dr. Patel will need to examine your teeth to make sure that porcelain veneers are a suitable option for your teeth. This is done to make sure the procedure can both be performed safely and will be effective.
Once you have been deemed a suitable candidate, X-rays and/or impressions may be taken of your teeth to be used in the manufacturing of your veneers. All of this occurs during your initial visit.
A small, very thin layer of your enamel will then be gently removed, and a temporary veneer will be put into place. Once your porcelain veneers are ready, you will return to Dr. Patel so they can be applied. A strong adhesive is used to apply the veneers (your temporary veneers will have been removed by this point), and a special light is used to complete the bonding. Your veneers will match the shade and shape you have discussed with Dr. Patel previously so that you walk out of the office ready to show your smile off to the world.
